Please note VHF Antennae Cable reguirment for Category 1. Regulation 3.29.1
iii The following types of and lengths of cable will meet the requirements up to 15 m in length type RG8x, 15m - 28m wkl require RG8U. I bring this up becuase many boats are currently using RG58 3/16″ diameter or the 8x. If your cable run is greater than the 15 m you will need to upgrade to the RG8U. Goal of the rule is to limit loss of transmission power to 40% or less.
